GA Paid Parental Leave & Maternal Birth Leave

Paid Parental Leave

Eligible full-time employees may receive up to 6 weeks (240 hours) of paid parental leave following the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child.  Paid parental leave must be used within 12 months of the qualifying event and is provided in accordance with Georgia law and Board policy.

Paid Maternal Birth Leave

Eligible full-time employees who give birth may receive an additional 3 weeks (120 hours) of paid maternal birth leave.  This leave must be taken during the first three weeks immediately following childbirth and is available in addition to Georgia's paid parental leave benefit for eligible employees.
